Front desk staff was not friendly. Our check in was messed up. We didn’t have shampoo for three days. But everything else was great. Best beach. Good pool. Buffet was decent.

There is such an issue with reference to trying to get a chair around the poolMy husband had to get up at 4;30 am every day to out our towels on chairsThere are not enough chairs If we didn’t do this, by 6:30 am there are NO chairs leftA really big game changer The reason we would never go back to Barcelo againThe staff are great, the property is cleanDon’t go to the Barcelo if your intending to go to the poolThe beach is small and crowds very quickly Not an enjoyable stay

Average Caribbean resort, highly over rated, definitely overpriced. Small beach for the size of hotel and amount of guests using the facilities . Pool chairs has been “reserved” since 4 am 😡, to get fairly good beach spot, be there by 7.00 am. Reservations for (4) special restaurants very limited (either day or time) . One very important highlight is the staff, housekeepers, waiters, bartenders, etc. so nice, friendly and welcoming.

We stayed at Barcelo in Jan and we had great expectations from this resort given the premium pricing they charge. It is a very good resort overall, right next to a great beach and across nice shopping and restaurant center. The pool is great with a bar next to it (where you can sit inside the pool and grab drinks), 2 hot tubs (not too hot) and couple of waterfalls (accesible). Overall the resort is very good but not great (and now I understand why).Starting from the staff who is not friendly and not accomodating, food service is terrible (for an all-inclusive), staff won't check in and you left alone at the table (most of the time you need to get your own coffee or ask for drinks). Food was pretty low quality, overcooked and poor variety. Towels for the pool are only available if you provide the assigned cards, which you will recollect once your return the towels, no exceptions on this and staff is rude at the towel hut.Ridiculously, people block all the seats/beds at the pool and beach from 6 am, hence you won't find any reasonable availability at later times (even 7 or 8 am). I have not seen something like this in adjacent resorts or anywhere else, and security does not care. Kids club is good (only 2 staff available which is low), nice staff and our kids loved.Every nite they provide good shows for adults (nothing crazy good).Restaurant in the resort are free at nite but quality is not excellent, good overall.Again, for the money, I believe it 4 out of 5 stars.

Had a very easy check in, dinner reservations are dependent on how many nights you are staying, that doesn’t mean you can’t do a walk in and get a table. Four nights got two guaranteed reservation dinners. Food in surrounding area is great. Buffet was fine . Biggest negative is the pool chair situation, def 530-6 to get a chair . Beach chairs were more readily available but people are also out there with flashlights very early. Bars were great bring a refillable mug, casino was fun but small not many table games. Overall relaxing and everyone was nice treated us great.

The hotel was very nice. It has easy access to the water and several huts to shield you from the sun. Have to get up early to secure those. Lots of chairs to go around. The hotel doesn’t offer access to chairs by the beach after 7. Would have to bring a towel to sit and enjoy the beach at night. Only one bar at night. Wish there were two.

I did not receive any VIP treatment even in the reservation they told me that they were going to give me a bottle of champagne that I never received the room was not what I expected the cleaning workers did not let me sleep talking loudly since 8 in the morning I did not like the room I have paid less for the room in other hotels and I have obtained better service. I don't know if it is the fault of the hotel or Expedia. The only thing I give a 100 is the treatment of the waiters at the bar and the buffet, but the rest of the hotel is very expensive for what it offers

All staff members were super friendly and kind, including workers in common areas, room cleaning, restaurants, entrance. They made our stay incredible! Our room was super nice and clean. The only problem was a loud pool pump next door that another resort used. Other than that, the room was great with daily cleaning services and mini bar restocks. We wish the evening shows in the ballroom started earlier. 9:30 or 10 pm is too late for a show, especially when you get exhausted from daily activities throughout the day. Also, it is inconvenient for families with young kids, who fall asleep early, but they still want to catch at least some part of it.In terms of amenities, we wish there was another bar open in addition to just the lobby bar in the evening. Also, the pool along with its bar close too early, at 7 pm. Also, there was only one type of beer in the drinks menu, the local Balashi beer. Aruba is a Dutch island, so we expected to see a variety of beers, such as Stella, Heineken, or any other European beers. My husband loves Heineken 0, and we didn’t have that option either. The alcohol selection was very limited in the main lobby bar. Also, there was no pool table available for free for the guests. All inclusive is an expensive option, so it would be nice to enjoy this game for free. Further, table tennis could be added in certain areas. I am sure a lot of guests will enjoy it. Other than that, our stay was great and we would definitely come back.

The property was clean and the staff was friendly. You needed to be inside for the wifi to work. This was a major issue when I needed to change my flight due to weather and the airline was waving fees for changes. It was online and on the phone with Expedia for four hours. The Expedia agents are not aware when airlines are waving fees and it took communicating with a few agents to get my flight changed without paying a fee. When you book with Expedia either plan to be on the phone or online with them for several hours if you need to make a change to your trip.

The pool bar, bar staff, and grounds were great. This is our second time coming back to the Barcelo, first time being before Covid. We noticed a definite change in the quality of food that was at the resort. Meals at the buffets and Mexican Lindo were very disappointing. Seemed to be the same options every day at the buffets, no real fresh vegetables. I’m sure things have changed with resources available and costs due to Covid hitting the island but I would suggest going off the resort for your meals or at least your dinners if you can swing it.

It was just okay. The staff was really nice and the restaurants are good. But THE BUFFET IS HORRIFYING. When I say HORRIFYING I mean HORRIFYING!! Breakfast was bad lunch was bad. If anything go outside and have lunch someplace else. But the restaurants were cool. The Japanese were amazing! The best. The others were okay.

Rooms are very outdated and dingy. We couldn’t even see out of the terrace door it was so dirty. The soap dish in the shower was rusted was gross. The room was not sufficiently clean when we checked in. The food is mediocre. The best meal we had at the resort was the Mexican restaurant. There could also be more evening activities as there was not much to do at the resort at night. The staff was very friendly and engaging. If you are on a budget, I guess this resort can be an option. However, I would recommend staying elsewhere.

I rather have eaten McDonald's instead of the food offered. The only good dining experience was at their Italian restaurant. The cooks were not following clean kitchen standards. I saw the omelet chef drop a used napkin into the cooking oil container and continued cooking with the same oil. Birds, buds, and other wildlife were intruding on diners. The beaches are extremely overcrowded and there is no fair system for renting out beach chairs. Tons of families would go early to the beach and hog all the beach chairs by putting their belongings on the chair and hardly using them. My family and I were forced to wear an uncomfortable bracelet to show our guest status. This bracelet was so pointless and the material of the plastic bracelet cut one of my family members. Also losing the bracelet was another $45 fee. Paid for an oceanfront view and received a room with barely a view of the ocean. The staff said that the rooms were not unavailable. What did I pay for then?
