A 5-star review for Lincoln Northeast wouldn't be typical to most reviews from high schoolers. But it's genuine for me. Northeast has been the place where I've experienced some of the best times of my life. I've become an open person, less shy and hidden in my shell. I've made friends with other students and teachers, relationships that will stick with me forever. I've thrown myself into academics and art, joined a program to paint a mural onto the walls of my school, and NHS, where I've realized my love of volunteering. Life as a Northeast student changed me and my life. The environment, but better yet, the teachers and students, have inspired me to become a teacher myself. And my dream job would be to teach at the very school I intend now. The love for Northeast isn't wide-spread. But it grows in me. I love my school, and think a 5-star review is fitting, perfectly.

Lincoln Northeast is a public institution with staff and administration who care about their students' achievements and educational progress. Because students are provided support from teachers and counselors anytime, one should expect to see a rise in on-time graduates. This is where the problem lies. The majority of students who graduate early and do well in school are unafraid to reach out when struggling. The minority of students who fall behind are unmotivated to continue their studies or they simply find leisure time more enjoyable than studying. I want Lincoln Northeast to persuade students about working hard for a better future, not a current present that will change once they reach adulthood.
Although my time in Northeast has been enjoyable, every school has its faults. I see students who drop Advanced classes because "they're not good enough." I hope to see a change some day in what school staff and students view as valuable and worthy into fixing.

Lincoln Northeast is like a small community within a larger city and treats everyone with respect. Lincoln Northeast promotes a family type atmosphere - such as if your parents graduated from Lincoln Northeast, more than likely you will graduate from Lincoln Northeast and may even return to teach or coach at the school. With the enrollment being lower than most other schools in Lincoln NE, created a variety of opportunities to become involved in various clubs and activities and participating in your favorite sport.
Lincoln Northeast is located in an older part of the city which does create a smaller area for parking and having older facilities. When parking is not available, students are walking from side streets or even forced to bring the city bus to school. Parking was a major my senior year. Another area of improvement could be the availability of more learning opportunities and more teachers available to provide tutoring when necessary.
