Privacy Policy
Last updated: October 26, 2026
This page explains what information 51classicchevy.com (“51 Classic Chevy”, “we”) collects, why, and what you can do about it. The short version: you can read every page on this site without telling us who you are, and we only learn your name and email address if you write to us.
What we collect
When you read the site. Like any web server, ours records technical details of each request: your IP address, the page you asked for, the time, your browser’s user agent and the referring page. A session record with your IP address and user agent is also kept on the server while your session lasts. We use this information to keep the site running, find errors and block abuse. We do not use it to build a profile of you.
When you use the contact form. We store the name, email address and message you send, together with the IP address and browser user agent of the request, which help us filter spam. Messages are stored on our server and are accessible only to the site operator and the internal tools it uses to manage its websites. We use them only to read and answer your message.
We do not run comments, user accounts, a newsletter signup or advertising on this site.
Cookies
The site itself sets two cookies that it needs to work: a session cookie and a security token that protects the contact form from forged submissions. Both are first-party, hold only a random identifier, and expire after about two hours without activity. Cloudflare, which delivers the site, may set a security cookie of its own to tell people from bots. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
Who else handles your data
- Cloudflare sits in front of the site to deliver pages quickly and filter malicious traffic. It processes your IP address and request details to do that. See Cloudflare’s privacy policy.
- Our hosting provider runs the server that stores the site, its logs and contact messages.
- Google Fonts. Our typefaces are loaded from Google’s servers, so your browser sends your IP address to Google when a page loads. See Google’s privacy policy.
We may also disclose information if the law requires it.
We do not sell or share personal information, as those terms are defined under California law, and we have not done so in the past 12 months.
How long we keep it
Server and application logs are deleted automatically after 7 to 14 days. Session records expire after about two hours without activity and are then cleared. We keep contact messages until you ask us to delete them.
Your choices
You can ask us what we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it, through our contact page. We aim to reply within 30 days. Depending on where you live, for example in California or the European Union, the law may give you further rights, and we will respond to requests as that law requires.
Children
This site is written for adults and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
If what we collect changes, for example if we add analytics, we will update this page and the date at the top before the change takes effect.
